Job Summary
A key role within the QHSE team, which combines in-depth knowledge and experience in quality, health & safety, and environmental management. The manager will develop and implement the safety management policies and procedures so that all employees have a safe and healthy working environment and Swissport complies with all current and future regulations and laws. Supports the business to assess operational safety and enforce and oversee the implementation of safety measures.
Prepares and provides regional management with relevant performance measurements and any other status updates for ongoing projects, corrective and preventative action plans.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments to take the necessary outcome improvement actions.
- Ensure that the risks are appropriately covered within operational risk registers.
- Initiate and/or carry out investigations.
- Plan and coordinate quality and essential safety KPI monitoring (test and inspection activities, statistical techniques)
- Ensure safety-related qualifications and skills are accurately documented and complied with in each insourced
- Ensure implementation of QHSE management standards in the region and actively support the development and improvement of the Swissport Management System
- Ensure operational processes comply with applicable ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 standards and support ongoing audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain documentation and procedures in alignment with ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 requirements and organizational compliance standards.
- Support internal and external ISO 9001, 45001, 14001 audits by preparing documentation and addressing corrective actions.
- Ensure quality and environmental-related training for employees.
- Ensure full compliance with the Swissport Management System.
- Ensure compliance with applicable performance standards.
- Promote awareness of customer and regulatory requirements
- Plan, prepare, and conduct internal and external audits in Swissport operational organizations and initiate/monitor corrective and preventative actions based on audit findings and occurrence investigations.
- Develop service level specifications for the required quality of delivery by selected suppliers.
- Deliver regular QHSE performance reports to the Regional QHSE leadership Team
- Maintain good relations with OEMs, customers, and airport authorities
Qualifications and Competencies
- University degree/professional qualifications or equivalent in a related field
- 3- 5 years’ experience in safety management and/or management system in production and/or maintenance factory or workshop environments
- Knowledge of country-specific laws and industry regulations related to safety and
- safety management
- Advanced spoken and written English
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and drive standards at all levels
- A sense of passion for improving safety & quality standards and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to persuade, gain support, obtain commitment, and mobilize a team to action
