Job Profile
The On-Site Technical Representative is critical in ensuring the work package is performed following the agreed schedule, within the agreed budget, and to the operator’s quality standards. This person shall review and approve any additional work outside of the planned work package before the commencement of said additional work by the maintenance facility. In this capacity, this person is responsible for ensuring the agreed work package, which may include line- and/or base-maintenance, the rectification of defects, closure of MEL items, modifications, cabin refurbishment, aircraft painting, and repairs, is performed following the agreed terms and conditions of the maintenance services agreement.

Your Responsibilities
The On-Site Technical Representative shall have the following responsibilities:
- is the on-site focal between the operator and the maintenance facility for the assigned aircraft,
- wherever practical, meets incoming aircraft flight crew to discuss any observations on the incoming flight,
- observes or closely monitors incoming checks and access panel opening (as well as removal of the cabin if required), identifying additional defects not previously reported and communicating these issues to the Planning Team,
- ensures the aircraft is maintained, repaired, modified in accordance with the quality standards of the operator GMM,
- ensures that the agreed work package is performed in accordance with the agreed budget and that any additional work is reviewed and approved, including the cost of the additional cost and its impact to the agreed downtime,
- uses best efforts to minimize aircraft downtime by working closely with the Planning and Procurement Teams and the maintenance facility to address and resolve issues in a timely manner, and to identify steps that may be taken to shorten the downtime without compromising quality or safety,
- provides timely updates to the Planning Team on the status of the work package being performed and of any issues that may affect aircraft downtime,
- liaise with Maintenance Planners to ensure an efficient maintenance event, working closely to integrate any additional requirements (i.e. AD’s, inspections, tasks, etc.) that may be required once the aircraft has entered the facility,
- liaises with the Procurement Team to ensure that all required parts, mod kits and, if required, special tooling is received by the maintenance facility when required,
- liaise with the Technical Services Team with regards to structural repairs, difficulties in performing maintenance/modifications/repairs, unusual defects and findings,
- supports the maintenance facility if/when required in the troubleshooting of defects and the sourcing of replacement parts,
- works closely the maintenance facility to ensure issues are dealt with and communicated in a timely manner,
- liaises with the Base and Line Maintenance Planners to ensure effective long- and short-range forecasting for the planning of scheduled base- and line-maintenance, and discretionary maintenance events,
- provide critical feedback to the Base and Line Maintenance Planners to optimize the scheduling of aircraft downtimes to ensure maximum aircraft availability while ensuring all required maintenance is performed in a timely manner,
- reviews work packages to ensure completeness and efficient use of aircraft downtime,
- is on-site, wherever practical, when the flight crew picks up the aircraft to act as a focal if any technical issues are observed and works closely with MCC and maintenance facility to quickly identify and resolve the issue(s)
- participates in post-maintenance event reviews with Planning Team and maintenance facility to identify shortcomings and opportunities for improvement.
- perform and/or oversee the performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure the timely and safe return to service of the aircraft,
- works with Planners to ensure timely compliance of fleet campaigns, Airworthiness Directive and mandatory Service bulletin compliance,
- works closely with Technical Services Team to provide critical feedback on the effectivity of the approved maintenance programs and reliability efforts,
Physical Demands:
- The physical demands of this position are typical of hangar and office environments.
- Occasional travel with the aircraft, to maintenance service providers and suppliers.
- Occasionally, maintain the aircraft where additional demands such as climbing ladders, kneeling or walking long distances may be required.
Work Environment:
- The primary work environment is in the aircraft, hangar and office areas. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and can be quite loud. Hearing protection is occasionally required.
- Safety procedures must be adhered to
Required Experience, Qualifications, and Education:
- Proven experience in maintaining complex turbine power aircraft and Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance and aircraft maintenance planning.
- 5+ years of experience maintaining aircraft and leading maintenance teams.
- Ability to identify issues that may affect aircraft safety, downtime, and/or quality and be able to effectively communicate concerns to their team, the operation, and the maintenance facility,
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate both in-house teams and maintenance facility personnel
- Demonstrated skills in performing effective troubleshooting techniques and efficient maintenance processes.
- Hold a valid FAA A&P certificate with AI approval, with a minimum of 8 years’ experience.
- Has complete aircraft type training for assigned aircraft type(s).
