Overview
The Mission Planner & OPS Analyst is responsible for developing, coordinating, analyzing,
and overseeing all aspects of flight and mission planning to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. This role serves as a critical link between Dispatch, OCC leadership,
Sales teams, and Flight Ops. In addition to mission planning responsibilities, this position provides operational analysis and technical expertise to enhance decision-making,
improve performance, ensure regulatory compliance and raise situational awareness. The role supports both scheduled and special operations worldwide by integrating route
optimization, airport feasibility, performance analysis, and safety risk assessments into the planning process. The Mission Planner & Ops Analyst plays a key role in strengthening
operational readiness, maintaining data accuracy across flight planning systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the OCC.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS), including conducting Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs) and Safety Risk Evaluations (SREs)
for new and existing operations.
- Leads training, standardization, and development of Mission Planners, ensuring consistent application of procedures, tools, and best practices across all
operations.
- Maintains close coordination between Dispatch, Flight Ops, and Sales Team to ensure efficient and cost-effective performance of the airline’s network.
- Conducts airport suitability, feasibility, and performance analysis for all proposed operations, including terrain, drift-down, and operational limitations.
- Develops and optimizes flight plans, routes, and payload capabilities based on aircraft performance, regulatory constraints, and operational objectives.
- Performs operational and cost analysis on routes, fuel consumption, and payload to support strategic and tactical decision-making.
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for international operations, route planning, and aircraft performance.
- Secures all required overflight, landing, and diplomatic clearances in a timely manner.
- Provides Flight Briefings (permit updates, routing constraints, performance considerations) to Dispatch 24–48 hours prior to mission execution.
- Delivers operational briefings to Duty Managers to support real-time execution and day-of-ops performance.
- Supports OCC leadership with long-term planning, and station implementation projects.
- Oversees and coordinates the launch of new stations, ensuring cross-functional alignment and operational readiness.
- Reviews, audits, and maintains flight planning databases, navigation data, and performance systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Develops, revises, and publishes operational documentation, including manuals, bulletins, airport data pages, and mission-specific guidance.
- Monitors compliance with company and regulatory standards, including performance manuals and operational procedures.
- Builds, edits, delays, and cancels missions in NOC/Raido as required.
- Maintains centralized mission files and documentation for operational visibility and audit readiness.
- Provides post-mission analysis and reporting, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Ensures Mission Planning supports safety, operational, and financial objectives while providing actionable feedback to Senior Leadership.
- Manages workload and pre-planning activities to ensure safe, reliable, and quality service delivery.
