Supply Chain Management is responsible for executing the category management plan for key logistics services utilized by Delta Air Lines. These services include parcel, trucking, air & ocean freight forwarding, couriers, charters, warehousing and cargo operations. The
Commodity Manager Logistics builds and sustains relationships with business leaders, suppliers and sourcing professionals. The role will be supporting stakeholders across multiple business units including TechOps (TOC), On Board Services (OBS), Cargo and Airport Customer Service (ACS) with their logistics strategies and needs. This person will report to the Strategic Sourcing Manager for Logistics
The successful candidate must understand the short- and long-term logistics strategy to develop and execute commodity sourcing to align with the strategy. (Commodity is defined as all tangible and intangible elements of any products or services which Delta utilizes in its business.) Will have primary responsibility for leading supplier RFPs, conducting pricing analysis, negotiations, and presentation to internal stakeholders for selection. Responsibilities also include: managing the ongoing contract compliance, commercial relationship with suppliers and supplier performance management.

- Required to lead cross-functional teams
- Must develop and execute sourcing strategies to align with the business unit's goals, provide Delta with optimum value, and maintain supply continuity
- Leads supplier RFPs, conducting pricing analysis, negotiations, and supplier selection
- Managing the day-to-day relationship with strategic suppliers and internal business units
- Delivering year-over-year savings utilizing Request for Proposals (RFPs) to evaluate pricing and a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach to recommendations.
- Manages ongoing contract compliance and commercial relationships with suppliers, identifying and pursuing savings strategies
- Develops both strategic & tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being
- Monitoring supplier performance and leading corrective action procedures when necessary
- Participate in key client business meetings (e.g., key vendor meetings, product team meetings, financial planning meetings)
- Effectively work with all organizational levels required. continuous improvement, and commitment to shareholder value creation.
- Lead cross-divisional analytic and reporting efforts to streamline processes and provide visibility to internal customers.
- Develop and trendline annual logistics budget forecasts across internal business units.
- Responsible for identifying category process efficiencies and improvements that yield productivity through cross-functional collaboration
- Provide spend management of category and optimize financial spend with insights and analytics
- Identify and drive continuous improvement through mutual innovation and collaboration with business units and supplier partners

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Finance, Supply Chain or other closely related field is required
- Demonstrates ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and thinks strategically
- Proficiency in the following skills is also required: communication, project management, consensus-building, leading cross-functional teams, presenting to leadership, financial analysis and modeling, and MS Office
- Self-starter and fully competent in optimizing own capacity
- Exhibits leadership capability or experience (whether leading cross-functional teams or direct reports)
- Demonstrates openness and flexibility, self-confident when encountering unfamiliar problems, eager to learn and understand commodities and processes, strives for continuous improvement, accepts and builds accountability, and exercises judgment and common sense

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Data Analytics or closely related field.
- An advanced degree is strongly preferred
- 4 years of experience in Finance, Supply Chain or closely related field is strongly preferred
- Manages work, proficient level of On-board Services commodity expertise, industry research, strategic sourcing, Total cost of ownership/design-to-cost, negotiation, contract management, and value-based decision analysis
- Excels in managing work and timelines.
- Fully competent in optimizing own capacity, demonstrating openness and self-confidence, driving customer-based business strategies, understanding the system, achieving greater results, accepting and building accountability, using judgment and common sense, and systemic thinking.
