We are looking for a Field Support Engineer with strong hands-on knowledge in both Windows Server and Linux environments. The role is responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support, troubleshooting, deployment support, maintenance, training, and operational support for IPS systems, tools and associated process.
Industrial Personalization Solutions (IPS) department is in charge of providing infrastructure and business packages to industrialize Thales Banking products in Personalization Bureau.
Responsibilities:
Windows & Linux Deployment & Support
- Deploy and support applications on Windows Server and Linux operating asystems.
- Troubleshoot deployment, service, performance, access, configuration, and application dependency issues.
- Perform health checks, log analysis, application patching, basic security checks, and configuration validation.
- Verify application services, permissions, certificates, scheduled tasks, file paths, and environment settings required for application operation.
- Support encryption-related troubleshooting, including certificates, secure key handling, key stores, and key vault integration.
Incident & Field Support
- Provide on-site and remote support for issues on production sites.
- Investigate operating systems, application, network, and connectivity problems.
- Analyze windows event viewer logs, linux system logs, application logs, and
monitoring alerts. - Identify root causes and provide fixes, workarounds, or proper escalation details
Deployment, CI/CD & DevOps Support
- Support application deployment, release activities, and post-deployment verification.
- Assist with continuous deployment activities using Ansible.
- Work with development, DevOps, and IT teams to improve deployment reliability and operational readiness.
- Support automation initiatives using scripting or infrastructure automation tools
AI Tools & Operational Improvement
- Use or explore AI-enabled tools to improve troubleshooting, documentation, knowledge search, log analysis, and support efficiency.
- Support automation or AI initiatives that reduce manual operational effort.
Requirements:
- Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in software development, application support, infrastructure operations, DevOps support, or similar technical roles
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, especially in deployment and troubleshooting
- Good understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, release management, and deployment automation.
- Good knowledge of Windows services, Event Viewer, IIS, PowerShell, Linux services, systemd, SSH, cron, shell commands, logs, and package management.
- Good understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewall rules, VPN, and connectivity testing.
- Able to troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, network, service, application, and deployment-related issues.
- Experience reading application logs, reviewing configuration files, and understanding deployment flows.
- Strong programming or scripting knowledge such as SQL and PowerShell.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle database, MariaDB & MySQL.
- Experience with automation, virtualization or monitoring tools such as Ansible, Datadog, Grafana, VMWare & Docker.
- Basic knowledge of Cloud technologies such as AWS & Azure.

Working Location: One North
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm
Able to travel to regional production sites when required.
Perform rotating standby support from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM SGT, approximately once every three weeks, inclusive of weekends.
