
PositionSummary:
The Centralized Publications Writer Technical edits and writes content for the JetBlue manual system and distributes publications to targeted Crewmembers. All work is done using Centralized Publications authoring tools and the distribution repository. All publications are maintained to established standards.
EssentialResponsibilities:
- Writes,editsandupdateswrittencontentforcompany manuals.
- Reviewsand edits technical policy and procedural documents, ensuring that the documents are logically constructed, clearly presented, and in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards as stated.
- Acquiresandpresents information through independent reading, interviews with subject-matter experts, online research, or other appropriate methods.
- Independentlydevelops,organizes,and presents thoughts and information clearly in writing.
- Plansandcarriesoutworkassignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation.
- ConsultswithSupervisorOperationsPublicationson unique situations which do not have clear precedents.
- Tracks project status using departmental procedures and tools
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Excellent,proven technical and business writing, editing, interpersonal, and communication skills
- One (1)year of technicalwritingexperience
- Understandingof XML and/or HTML
- ExcellentMicrosoftOfficeand Adobe Acrobat skills
- Abilitytocontributeina team environment and work on several projects simultaneously
- Availableforoccasionalovernighttravel(10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in English or communications
- Excellent,proven technical and business writing, editing, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Four (4) years technical writing experience
- XML and/or HTML proficiency
- ExcellentMicrosoftOfficeand Adobe Acrobat skills

CrewmemberExpectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $62,000.00 and $101,000 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
