About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Babcock, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative electrical engineering solutions across the full engineering product lifecycle.
Drawing on your expertise in lightning protection, earthing systems and electrical design, you will lead technical investigations, develop robust engineering solutions and make informed decisions that directly influence the success, safety and performance of complex Defence and industry projects.
Working both independently and collaboratively, you will produce and review high-quality technical documentation, support system integration and verification activities, and provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
You will also mentor developing engineers, champion continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to business development activities, ensuring engineering excellence is embedded across every stage of project delivery while supporting Babcock’s commitment to innovation, quality and safety.
About You
You are an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong technical foundation and proven capability in delivering complex engineering outcomes.
Your expertise in lightning protection, earthing design and electrical compliance allows you to confidently solve challenging problems, review third-party designs and provide authoritative technical advice across multidisciplinary teams.
Comfortable taking ownership of critical decisions, you combine analytical thinking with practical application to deliver solutions that meet performance, safety and regulatory requirements.
You communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, build productive relationships with customers and suppliers, and thrive in environments where continuous improvement and innovation are valued.

To be successful in this position you will bring:
- Hold an accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Extensive relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
- A good understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software).
- Systems engineering experience coupled with engineering experience in AS3000:2018 and AS1768:2021.
- Desirable: Engineering experience in RF and / or communications relevant discipline.
