The opportunity
Our team of 150 Finance professionals play a key role in guiding critical business decisions and cutting-edge solutions for the world's leading aerospace company. The work that Boeing does contributes to aviation and aerospace products, technologies and services that make a difference in the lives of people around the world.
We are seeking a talented Senior Project Accountant to support a world class Battlespace Communications System, Project Currawong. This role is part of the integrated finance team on the program. This role offers the opportunity to challenge yourself in a fast-paced environment with plenty of changes that keep the work interesting and the opportunity for exposure to the broader Boeing enterprise.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in weekly, monthly and annual reporting requirements;
- Prepare Estimates at Completion.
- Make recommendations to management on financial performance projections using financial and business knowledge and experience;
- Initiate and review variance analysis and provide understanding of operational and financial performance to multiple stakeholders across the business;
- Analyse, interpret, prepare and reconcile financial information;
- Prepare standard and ad hoc internal and external financial reports for management and present to internal stakeholders where required;
- Pricing of contract change proposals and S&Q's;
- Stakeholder management including liaising with project managers, product team leads, finance team, program leadership and the Commonwealth customer;
- Mentoring of junior project accountants in the team.
Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business or commerce; or equivalent experience in the workforce.
- CA/CPA qualification desirable.
- 6 or more years' related work experience in Defence Industry or other project based industries.
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP, TM1 is highly desirable but not essential.
- Competent user with intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to adapt to different situations and ask for help with competing priorities.
- Proactive approach to day to day tasking.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders.
