Delta's Corporate Travel Commodity Manager focuses on sourcing Delta's hotel and transportation needs for crew, training, company business and distressed passengers across the globe, with this role having a special focus on Latin America.
Duties involve all aspects of the procurement process including RFP, contract negotiation and supplier management. The position requires attention to detail, extensive travel, and schedule flexibility for last-minute inspections and contingency planning when irregularities arise.
Summary Of Responsibilities
- As a Corporate Travel Commodity Manager, you ‘II support Delta's operation by ensuring our interna! and externa! customers have safe, clean, and comfortable hotels and transportation worldwide. Key responsibilities:
- Developing and executing strategic sourcing plans
- Managing category RFP processes, from development to execution
- Identifying and translating business requirements into business metrics, SLA's and other commercial terms for contract inclusion
- Vendor onboarding and suppler risk assessment
- Collaborating with Supply Chain analytics to optimize hotel blocks to minimize spoilage, tax benefits, and reduce overall cost
- Cross-divisional stakeholder and supplier collaboration - identifying cost reduction opportunities, effectively interacting with all levels of interna! and externa! management.
- Market research - maintaining a working knowledge of business trends including industry changes, cost drivers, market conditions and economic indicators
- Supplier management - ensuring suppliers support Delta's business needs and customer expectations, recognizing outstanding performance.
- Operational and tactical contract management functions including purchase order updates, contract renewals and SLA/performance management
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Exceptional meticulousness, with a strong focus on precision and accuracy
- High level of flexibility with a strong time management skillset and demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities/projects in a fast-paced environment
- At least 5 years of professional experience and prior experience in airline and/or hotel travel industry
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and think strategically and systemically.
- Competence in corporate finance including financial assessment and value-based decision analysis.
- Strong communication skills with proven experience in designing high impact and convincing presentations to secure commitment from stakeholders.
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 80% often on short notice), performing physical tasks related to hotel inspections including but not limited to driving, climbing multiple stairs, etc.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Must have valid driver licenses.
- Must have a valid passport.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

- Experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing, contract management and/or category management
- Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills preferred
