Main Responsibilities:
- Compliance & Auditing:Ensure company adherence to statutory requirements, industry standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, ISAGO, other IATA standards etc), and company policies and procedures.
- Risk Management: Identify safety hazards, security threats, perform risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies in cooperation with the business line managers, and escalate issues to the CEO, Regional Management including the Regional Director QHSSE.
- Incident Response: Investigate hazards, incidents and accidents, submit report to authorities as per requirements, define corrective/preventive actions, work with business line managers on actions and follow up ensure effectiveness reviews are conducted to prevent reoccurrence.
- Culture: Promote a strong and positive QHSE culture ensuring safety elements are not compromised. Drive a proactive safety culture, supported by management, accountabilities clearly defined and recognition of employees.
- Training: Develop and deliver regulatory OSH training and awareness campaigns to employees. Monitor QHSE personnel competency and address gaps. Monitor QHSE related training compliance and address gaps.
- Reporting & KPI Management: Monitor QHSE performance, reporting to leadership, customer airlines and authorities are required. Analyse trends and ensure actions are put in place to revert any negative trend identified.
- Provide support and advice to all station managers, business line managers, customers, authorities and management personnel on matters related to QHSE.
- Lead the development of Local Emergency Response Plans (LERP) in line with local authority requirements aligned with the company’s requirements, and testing.
- Act as role model in compliance with company QHSE standards and values.
- Coordinate and ensure alignment with the Security Manager regarding ISO, documentation, reporting, investigation, emergency response, business continuity, threat and risk assessment practices in the country.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent.
- 3- 5 years experience in safety management and/or quality management system
- You have proven experience in the aviation industry, with a deep understanding of Ground Handling and Air Cargo operations.
- Knowledge of aviation safety and operational standards, including a thorough grasp of industry frameworks such as ISAGO, IGOM, ICAO, and IATA regulations.
- Fluent command of English as the corporate language.
- Advanced strategic skills and commercial acumen combined with the ability to motivate teams in a multicultural environment.
- Knowledge of country specific laws and industry regulations related to safety and safety management
- Experienced in multi-site management managing complex international stakeholders and building leadership vision through sustainable change management.
- A sense of passion for improving safety & quality standards and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations.
