The intern will improve analytical method for containment analysis for Gas turbine airfoils using energy methods and FEA in Ls-Dyna.

Our expectations:
The intern will improve analytical method for containment analysis for Gas turbine airfoils using energy methods and FEA in Ls-Dyna.
What your day to day will look like:
Following are the main tasks / deliverables to explore:
- Secure and document current material database for containment analysis
- Optimise Finite Element selection for FEM generation
- Improve material failure definition for high impact analysis in Ls-Dyna
- Run test cases for calibration to physical tests (engine level and/or component level rig tests)
Must haves:
- Be eligible to work in Canada
- Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship
- Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable Pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Mechatronic Engineering
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken/written).
- Courses taken: Mechanics of materials / Damage in Materials, Static / Mechanics of Deformable Solids, Structure & Properties of materials.
- Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure with competing and varying priorities.
- LS-Dyna/Ansys experience, Finite Element Analysis, Dynamics, Machinery Design.
