Job Summary

The Crew Optimization Analyst is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the planning and optimization of day to day resources including but not limited to reserve allocation, open time management, and pairing analysis and enhancement.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track the monthly reserve type allocation, reserve availability periods (RAPs) and day to day reserve changes
  • Analyze open time trends and identify areas of improvement that should be addressed by the management and planning teams
  • Prepare reports analyzing trends for reserve utilization, reserve release, and reserve conversion. Recommend and implement schedule optimization strategies based on findings
  • Prepare comparison reports for planned pairings vs. completed pairings and analyze scheduling trends with regards to pairing construction and completion. Provide necessary insight to the Planning Analyst for pairing optimization
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, managing sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner, using discretion and judgement
  • Perform continuous audits and adjustments of daily Crew Schedules in accordance to Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Porter FOAG
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operation; understand, comply with and promote the Company Safety Policy
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of at least one year in Crew Scheduling or Planning and knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Full proficiency with Google Suite. Previous experience with Navblue N-OC is an asset.
  • Works well under pressure, performs and coordinates multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to identify problems, their sources and the potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, shift work and overtime if necessary
  • Dependable, energetic, self-starter
