Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Supply Chain Project Manager, known internally as a Supplier Critical Part Manager, to manage critical projects within the supply chain at Leonardo Helicopters, based in Yeovil.

Working cross functionally you will manage the timely supply, or introduction, of development or modified equipment to the required quality standard and in the most economic manner in accordance with defined Aircraft requirements, the customer’s requirements and the relevant company policies.

You will work to ensure that the development and modification equipment are fully qualified in accordance with the necessary regulatory and specifications, to support the supply of aircraft to the customer and that a repeatable production process is developed that supports future series production requirements.

This role is a level 6 on our internal Salary and Career Progression Framework (SC&PF).

What you’ll do as a Supply Chain Project Manager

  • Accountable for the integration of equipment through the development phase by the setting of scope and time targets for all the key activities.
  • Based upon progress updates of the supplier’s activities, you will identify issues and drive the proper corrective actions to maintain the project plan target dates.
  • Using project plans, provide the best integration along the development phase.
  • Update and report on the progress of Supplier’s development activities to key stakeholders
  • Support supplier selection process (Proposal Analysis)

Essential

What we need from you

  • A sound engineering background or experience within an aerospace, material supply or manufacturing environment working in avionic / electrical / structural or mechanical disciplines.
  • Project management knowledge
  • Possess knowledge of conditions of supply, with strong influencing and negotiation skills to ensure delivery of outputs and product in or from areas where you have no direct authority.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be capable of operating at senior management level within both Company and Supplier organisations.
  • Have the ability to build productive Customer/Supplier working relationships.
  • Be able to create and present, both verbally and written, periodic status reports which clearly and concisely give all stake holders an accurate, informative view on part specific progress. Identifying risk and subsequent risk mitigation planning.
  • Knowledge of materials and inventory management to understand the flow of materials, including Aircraft Build logic.
  • Good leadership, problem solving, and project planning skills.
  • Be highly self-motivated and a proactive change agent.

  • Experience using SAP
