Position Summary
With minimum guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks of complex scope and nature in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, carpentry, painting, air conditioning, equipment, production, and N/C machinery.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
Remove, repair, or relocate machine parts; install air and water lines; align and adjust machines for production operation.
Diagnose defects and perform repair and preventive maintenance to various types of hydraulic equipment, machine tools, building plumbing, and related equipment.
Construct, install, maintain, repair, and overhaul test stands, fixtures, and related hydraulic equipment. Set up and operate arc and acetylene welding equipment.
Plan, layout and construct additions, partitions, benches, shipping boxes, and other carpentry. Assist in planning the sequence of operations and methods to be used in overhaul and repair.
Check and calibrate new or rebuilt equipment after installation.
Identify and repair numerically controlled machine malfunctions.
Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and mechanical operations for proper operation. Use precision test equipment.
May work with computers and computer software to create and operate programs, reports, and spreadsheets.
Coordinate the purchase, inventory delivery, and pickup of hazardous material and maintain a current inventory of on-site chemicals. Coordinate packaging, labeling, storing, and scheduling pickup of hazardous waste for offsite disposal. Maintain accurate records of all hazardous waste shipped offsite. Initiate compliance inspections.
Advise and assist in clean?up of chemical spills.
Provide technical assistance on hazardous materials compliance and safe practices. Perform other related responsibilities.
Qualifications
At least five (5) years related maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
May require proficiency with pump and valve overhaul procedures, especially aerospace-associated equipment. Ability to work from blueprints and sketches.
May require the ability to set up and operate carpentry, hand, and power tools. May require working knowledge of national, state, and local electrical codes.
May require knowledge of general hydraulics technology, i.e., pumps, cylinders, accumulators, filters, & and piping, tube bending, and piping fabrication for hydraulic and pneumatic applications. May require knowledge of chemicals and their characteristics.
May require working knowledge of computer and computer software to operate programs, create reports, and spreadsheets.
Required to lift up to 35 pounds.
May require forklift operator certification.
Must demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work with others and be a participative team player.
