Technical Operations/Maintenance

At United, our fleet features some of the finest aircraft, meticulously maintained by our adept Technical Operations team. This elite team, comprising maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment, facilities, and supply chain management professionals, ensures each aircraft is in flawless condition for flight. Join our Technical Operations team and play an integral role in keeping our aircraft soaring.

Job Overview And Responsibilities

We seek a dynamic Senior Engineer to join our New Aircraft team. This key role ensures seamless integration and top performance of new aircraft through leadership in monthly and quarterly reliability reviews.

This role demands new aircraft delivery performance tracking via a detailed analysis of cancellations, Out-of-Service incidents, and Operational Reliability Index events, focusing on Pilot Reports, Component Removals, Minimum Equipment Lists, and New Event Forms, spanning a rolling 90-day period.

Responsibilities include defect data scrutiny, review of production revision record changes, review of aircraft acceptance criteria, pinpointing production issues, trending factory quality performance, and maintaining robust communication with Fleet Management and the OEM quality team, amongst other responsibilities. Crucial duties include factory interface with essential quality and manufacturing leaders to drive closed-loop feedback with OEMs.

Up to 75% travel is required for this position.

Qualifications

What’s Needed to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent experience, preferably with 4-6 years in an aviation engineering role
  • Familiarity with airline or OEM operations and a solid ability to interpret complex technical documents.
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes, airworthiness criteria, and a detailed project management and system ownership approach.
  • Strong communication skills are crucial.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship,
