Role Introduction
Shape the future of Cathay’s infrastructure and security architecture landscape. You will lead a team of Infrastructure and Security Architects responsible for designing and implementing fit-for-purpose, cost-effective, resilient technology platforms and services that support business operations, digital initiatives, and long-term growth across the organisation.
Working at the intersection of strategy and execution, you will influence infrastructure and security roadmaps, technology standards, funding priorities, and architectural decisions across a diverse technology estate. Success requires close collaboration with Enterprise Architects, testing teams, procurement stakeholders, solution delivery teams, security specialists, business units, technology vendors, and service providers to ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, operationally supportable, and aligned with business objectives.
You will guide the adoption of emerging technologies, cloud capabilities, software-defined technologies, and standardised design patterns while strengthening reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and time-to-market. Through your leadership and technical direction, you will help enable the systems and platforms that keep Cathay moving forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Infrastructure and Security Architecture function, setting technical direction and ensuring solutions support organisational goals and business growth
- Shape infrastructure strategy, technology roadmaps, annual work plans, and investment priorities in alignment with agreed objectives
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending appropriate innovations and communicating their relevance across the organisation
- Define and maintain infrastructure standards, architecture principles, design patterns, service catalogues, and non-functional requirements
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, testing, security, procurement, solution delivery teams, and business units to ensure solutions are compliant, supportable, and aligned with company standards
- Design infrastructure solutions using standard building blocks and simplified architecture approaches to improve delivery speed and consistency
- Validate solution designs and implementations to ensure platforms are delivered according to approved architecture and technical requirements
- Manage the lifecycle of infrastructure products and services, reviewing plans regularly and adjusting priorities as business needs evolve
- Develop and lead a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, capability building, motivation, and talent retention
- Drive strategic vendor partnerships and external service providers to deliver technical expertise, innovation, and effective infrastructure solutions for Cathay.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of Information Technology experience, including at least 5 years in an Infrastructure Management role or equivalent leadership position
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex infrastructure platforms and services
- Demonstrated success in leading and motivating large, multicultural teams
- Strong stakeholder management experience, with the ability to build effective relationships across Information Technology and business functions
- Experience managing large-scale global projects and multiple concurrent medium-to-large initiatives within cross-functional environments
- Experience leading the development and implementation of global infrastructure products and services across multiple technology disciplines
- Strong strategic thinking and communication skills, with the ability to develop, document, present, and gain support for technology solutions from senior management
- Technical expertise in infrastructure technologies, including hardware, system software, vendor solutions, and enterprise technology platforms
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, coaching, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
