Role Description The Senior Manager BDL role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Toledo, Ohio Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for leading business development and logistics initiatives, identifying growth opportunities, and managing strategic relationships with key customers and partners. The Senior Manager BDL oversees planning and execution of cargo and ground handling solutions, ensuring alignment with operational, safety, and security standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing market trends, developing commercial proposals, coordinating cross-functional teams, and monitoring performance metrics for business lines under their remit. The role also involves mentoring team members, optimizing processes, and collaborating with senior leadership to support long-term business strategy and profitability.
Qualifications
- Strong background in business development, commercial strategy, and client relationship management within aviation, logistics, or related industries.
- Experience in cargo operations, ground handling, or airport services, with a solid understanding of safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership abilities, including team management, cross-functional collaboration, and performance coaching in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and interpreting operational and financial data.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present to internal and external stakeholders and manage complex projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Aviation Management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Demonstrated capability to work on-site in an airport or logistics environment and adapt to changing operational priorities.
- Proficiency with standard office and business software; experience with aviation or logistics management systems is beneficial.
