Qatar Airways is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Human Resources team as a
Lead HR Separations Officer, based in Doha, Qatar.
As the Lead HR Separations Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the employee separation journey across Qatar Airways Group. Beyond overseeing the day-to-day delivery of separations services, you will act as a key driver of operational excellence, process governance, and continuous improvement. Working closely with HR, Payroll, IT, Finance, Legal, and other business stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance systems, strengthen controls, and deliver a seamless and compliant employee experience.
Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the HR Separation function, ensuring the effective and compliant management of all employee separation cases, including resignations, terminations, retirements, employee transfers, absconding, and deceased employee cases.
- Manage the end-to-end separation process, including approvals, employee communications, system updates, release documentation, and final settlements, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Review and validate final settlement calculations, legal clearances, and separation-related documentation to ensure compliance and mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Partner with Legal Affairs, Immigration, government authorities, embassies, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to facilitate employee departures and resolve separation-related matters.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees and stakeholders, providing expert guidance on separation policies, employment regulations, final settlements, and related processes.
- Manage sensitive and confidential employee matters, including executive-level and senior leadership cases, with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.
- Conduct and coordinate exit interviews for senior management employees, ensuring feedback is captured and leveraged to support business improvement initiatives.
- Establish and maintain robust process documentation, operational procedures, and governance standards, ensuring separation activities are consistently executed across the Group.
- Drive process transformation initiatives by identifying operational gaps, simplifying workflows, and implementing sustainable improvements to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
- Collaborate with HR Technology and IT teams to identify system enhancement opportunities, define business requirements, support testing and user acceptance activities, and improve the overall employee and stakeholder experience.
- Develop and maintain operational reports, dashboards, KPIs, and management information to monitor performance, identify trends, and support data-driven decision making.
- Investigate recurring operational and system-related issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve process effectiveness and service quality.
- Coordinate projects and improvement initiatives, managing actions, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful delivery.
- Monitor compliance with separation policies, procedures, and service standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualification
About You
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience.
- Experience within HR Operations, Employee Relations, HR Shared Services, or a related HR function, preferably within a complex and fast-paced environment, with a strong understanding of HR policies, employee lifecycle processes, and employment regulations.
- Proven experience driving process transformation, continuous improvement initiatives, and change management activities, including the development, standardisation, and maintenance of SOPs, process documentation, and governance frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root-cause analysis, identify process gaps, and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, reporting, and data analysis, with the ability to develop dashboards, KPIs, trackers, and management reports that support business decision-making.
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills, with the ability to translate operational data and insights into clear and impactful management-level presentations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across HR, Payroll, IT, Finance, and wider business functions.
- Strong project coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A collaborative, customer-focused approach, combined with strong ownership, accountability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service and driving actions through to completion.
- The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
Preferred
- Experience supporting HR systems enhancements, process automation initiatives, testing, and user acceptance activities.
- Experience working within a large, multicultural, and service-oriented organisation.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and operational excellence best practices.
