We're looking for a Transport Clerk to join our team in Totton, playing a key role in supporting the day-to-day transport operation. You'll help ensure deliveries are completed efficiently, compliance standards are maintained, and drivers receive the support they need to deliver excellent service to our customers.
✅ What You'll Be Doing
As part of your role, you'll help keep our transport operation running smoothly by:
- Managing customer Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation, including scanning, uploading and resolving missing PODs and returns.
- Conducting daily driver briefings and debriefings.
- Monitoring vehicle routes and driver schedules through Microlise, escalating issues where necessary.
- Supporting the wider transport team with a variety of administrative and operational tasks.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, transport legislation and Health & Safety standards.
- Identifying and reporting any operational concerns or compliance issues in a timely manner.
- Maintaining accurate records and transport documentation.
✅ What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and thrives in a busy operational environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within a transport, logistics or distribution environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using transport management systems such as Microlise and Tachomaster.
- An understanding of driver hours regulations, Working Time Directive (WTD) requirements and transport compliance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
- The ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure.
