About you
You will be an engaging and influential people leader in HSE, Quality and Sustainability, with a passion for guiding and mentoring senior leaders and their teams to embed best practice systems, tools and standards while ensuring robust governance, assurance and compliance across the entire business.
Your exceptional technical expertise, combined with your ability to influence, drive organisational change and build commitment at all levels, will enable you to lead world-class HSE, Quality and Sustainability governance, assurance and performance across our Australasian operations. Supported by broad industry experience, you will have a proven track record of partnering with executive leaders, shaping strategic direction and delivering improvements in organisational performance while advancing our sustainability commitments.
Leading a team of 7-8 direct reports who are subject matter experts in their respective disciplines, you will provide strategic leadership to a broader HSEQ function of more than 50 professionals across Australia and New Zealand. Operating through a model that combines embedded business partnering within our Business Units and a central corporate team responsible for standards, assurance, reporting and specialist support, you will foster a high-performing culture built on accountability, collaboration, clear expectations and aligned strategic direction.
About the role
As Head of HSE, Quality and Sustainability Australasia, you will provide leadership and strategic advice to Business Unit Managing Directors, senior leaders and key stakeholders, shaping the direction and performance of HSE, Quality and Sustainability across Babcock's Australia and New Zealand operations.
You will be accountable for the effectiveness of Babcock's HSE, Quality and Sustainability systems, governance and assurance framework, ensuring compliance, operational excellence and continuous improvement across the business.
This is a key functional and pivotal leadership role for Australasia and is core to the success of Babcock.
This role is based in Adelaide, South Australia.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Defence Security Clearance as per AGSVA requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Safety, Quality and Management disciplines
- Proven level of experience at a similar level with the ability to coach, influence and enable senior leaders
- Deep technical understanding of HSE, Quality and Sustainability regulations, governance and assurance
- Experience operating within a global, complex and highly regulated organisation
- Exceptional communication, influencing and negotiation skills
