ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to lead the development and management of SITA OptiFlight, our innovative in-flight optimization tool. SITA OptiFlight helps airlines reduce fuel burn and carbon footprint by providing real-time flight path optimizations throughout all phases of the flight. This role requires a strong background in airline operations and product management, coupled with technical expertise in aviation technology.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Product Leadership: Oversee the lifecycle of SITA OptiFlight, from strategic planning and development to market introduction and continuous improvement.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape. Translate insights into product features and enhancements.
- Customer Engagement: Engage with airline customers to gather feedback, understand their operational challenges, and ensure SITA OptiFlight meets their requirements.
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Data science, and Product Design teams to ensure the product is technically sound and user-friendly.
- Product Expertise: Act as a key subject matter expert (SME) in flight optimization solutions within the organisation. Use the expertise to help customers excel on the application of pre-flight and in-flight optimization using our products.
- Roadmap Planning: Define and prioritize features and enhancements based on market research, customer feedback, competitive analysis, and regulatory requirements. Create and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that guides development efforts and aligns with business goals.
- Product Lifecycle Process: Drive the product through SITA's Product Lifecycle Process to ensure the application of high product management industry standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and customer success teams to execute on the product roadmap. Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork to deliver high-quality, impactful solutions that exceed customer expectations.
- Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including airline partners, regulatory bodies, and industry groups, to drive product success and adoption.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of advancements in aviation technology, sustainability practices, and regulatory changes to ensure SITA OptiFlight remains at the forefront of in-flight optimization solutions.
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the airline industry, specifically inflight operations.
- Minimum 5 years of product management experience, preferably with a focus on aviation technology or related fields.
- Track record of achieving Product revenue growth and of managing product P&Ls.
- Experience of working in a matrix environment liaising with different teams to drive overall product success.
- Strong understanding of aircraft performance, flight operations, and aviation data analysis.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing software products to market, from conception to launch.
- Deep understanding of product management best practices, including agile methodologies, product lifecycle management, and UX/UI principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, extract insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Proficiency in French and/or Spanish is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with predictive modeling and optimization algorithms is highly desirable.
