What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensuring manufacturing processes are carried out safely by identifying and understanding process risks and implementing the necessary controls to ensure process risks are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)
- Refining the manufacturing processes to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification and business priorities
- Supporting resolution of any manufacturing issues that arise, to ensure interruptions in production are resolved in a safe manner with minimal down time
- Driving and supporting targeted Continuous Improvement activities, through continually improving processes in area of responsibility to achieve business effectivity goals and cost of quality reduction targets
- Liaising with the site Safety/COMAH team to develop and maintain manufacturing High Hazard Safe Systems of Work, including various Process Risk Assessments, and Standard Operating Procedures
- Driving & Supporting Capital Expenditure & Business Critical projects by producing Technical Specifications(TRS) for new/replacement equipment, carrying out Factory Acceptance and Installed Article Testing(FAT, IAT), and carry out Trials and Commissioning on process equipment.
Essential
Your skills and experiences:
- Qualification in an engineering discipline (Science or Engineering degree, HNC or HND) or time served in an Engineering discipline
- Exposure to a medium/high volume manufacturing environment and ability to support manufacturing schedule adherence
- Capability to produce written/visual instructions i.e. SOP’s, RA’s and have experience with carrying out fault diagnosis on production machinery and equipment
- Proficient in interrogating plant/equipment and product technical specifications and drawings
Desirable
- Possession of an IOSH Managing Safely certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or a willingness to work towards
- Experience of sourcing, purchasing and installing manufacturing equipment, ideally experience as project lead, either individually, or part of a team

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring all manufacturing processes within your Area of Responsibility are carried out safely and efficiently.
