The Role
As a Human Resources Business Partner, you'll serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to leaders within assigned functional groups. You'll bring HR expertise and sharp business acumen to the table, helping shape our workforce strategy, drive organizational effectiveness, and champion a culture where people can do their best work. This is a high-impact, highly visible role for an HR professional ready to operate at the intersection of strategy and execution.
What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to all levels of leadership, helping shape HR strategy in alignment with our long-term organizational vision and short-term initiatives
- Partner with leaders to drive small and large-scale organizational transformations — whether during growth, restructuring, or other pivotal moments
- Participate in leadership planning meetings to ensure HR strategies are embedded in key business decisions
- Influence and contribute to the development of company-wide policies and HR initiatives
Talent Management & Development
- Collaborate with leadership on the full employee lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, development, retention, and succession planning
- Partner with managers to identify and address talent gaps to meet short and long-term business objectives
- Participate in leadership development programs targeting leaders and key talent
- Act as a coach and mentor for managers, directors, and VPs — strengthening leadership capabilities throughout the organization
Employee Relations
- Foster a positive and effective organizational culture by addressing employee concerns with care and providing sound guidance to resolve conflicts
- Take ownership of complex and sensitive employee relations matters, investigations, and escalations
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies
- Coach and support managers and employees on performance, behavior, and development
Data Analytics & Workforce Planning
- Leverage people analytics to identify trends, anticipate challenges, and present actionable insights to leadership
- Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of HR strategies and demonstrate measurable ROI
- Connect HR data to organizational KPIs and support informed, strategic decision-making
Change Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of organizational changes
- Act as a change agent to embed a culture of innovation, teamwork, humility, and strong leadership throughout the organization
- Guide leaders and employees through transitions with empathy and clear, actionable strategies
Mentorship & Team Development
- Provide insights and partnership to the HR team, ensuring consistency in HR practices and fostering the professional growth of the HR team
- Backup HR Generalist duties as needed, demonstrating a collaborative and helpful approach
- Collaborate across AES and other Astronics divisions to drive and implement key initiatives and programs that align with business goals
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Relevant HR certification preferred: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
- 2+ years of direct experience in core HR Business Partner functions
Skills & Competencies
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align HR strategies with broader organizational goals and contribute to long-term business planning
- Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to influence leaders and stakeholders; a partner in driving organizational change
- Business Acumen: Understanding of industry trends, financial performance, and competitive dynamics
- Workforce Planning: Experience with workforce analytics and forecasting to anticipate talent needs and address skill gaps
- Organizational Design: Experience partnering with leaders on operating models, team structures, and job frameworks
- Emotional Intelligence: Empathy, self-awareness, and interpersonal sensitivity in all interactions
- Change Management: Experience leading or contributing to change initiatives
- Conflict & Crisis Management: Skilled at navigating high-stakes situations with poise and professionalism
- Financial Acumen: Ability to interpret and apply financial data to HR decisions around compensation, budgets, and organizational investments

- Applicant Tracking System (Greenhouse)
- Performance management and Learning Management System
- Knowledge of employment law compliance tools (EEO, FLSA, ADA, etc.)
Employment Eligibility Requirements
- This position may involve access to items subject to U.S. export-control laws. Employment is contingent upon the employee’s authorization to access such items under applicable law. The company does not guarantee and is under no obligation to seek such authorization if it is necessary.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening (includes cannabis).
Compensation
- Base salary range: $86,000 – $130,000 per year (Mid-point: $108,000). Factors such as education, experience, skills and market conditions influence the actual salary. It is not typical to be hired at or near the top of the range.
- Bonus: Highly competitive Quarterly Profit Sharing Bonus.
