The role
As a Strategic Planning Senior Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be part of an exciting opportunity to work in the Babcock Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) in Bristol, working in a deployed Babcock team directly supporting our client, the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), in delivering portfolio and programme analysis.
Alongside our deployed strategic planning experts, your role will provide strategic assessment of the submarine programme, with a broad submarine maintenance engineering lens, in support of the client’s strategic planning and informed decision making.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Provide output and services to support the client’s evolving demand, bringing a perspective from an engineering background.
- Learn and understand the submarine business operations at enterprise level to enable effective application of programme management techniques.
- Establish information needs for analysis and proactively engage stakeholders to ensure it is secured.
- Learning and operating SDA programming and analysis tools
- Present and explain information outputs to various levels and functions within the organisation.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3-4 days in the office and 1-2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Strategic Planning Senior Engineer
- Proven career background in an engineering discipline.
- Collaborative and responsive with strong communication skills able to liaise with senior levels and customers.
Qualifications for the Strategic Planning Senior Engineer
- Strong MS Excel skills
- MS Project and/or Primavera P6 Skills
- An engineering qualification is desirable.
