The role
As an Engineering Management Discipline Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will facilitate a more consistent engineering delivery approach across the business, aligning all business streams to follow a set standard.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure application of the highest standards for health, safety, and environment (including ethics and behaviours) within the business stream.
- Ensure right capability, processes and tools are available for use within the Cavendish Nuclear business streams.
- Develop and maintain a subject matter expert (SME) framework for business streams to call upon as required.
- Identification of long-term skills/capability requirements and subsequent development of plans to meet future demand.
- Provide a recognised and independent “home” for each engineering discipline to include (not exhaustive): maintaining the “health” of each engineering discipline to meet current and future business needs; own and maintain technical guidance to support engineers working in delivery within individual business streams; own and maintain the technical content for the discipline component of the career development framework, including standard technical training requirements; own and maintain a set of standard role profiles for all engineering, science and technical roles inc. technical inductions.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. This role is adaptable and can be delivered from various locations including Warrington, Stoke Gifford or Leicester.
Essential experience of the Engineering Management Discipline Lead:
- Experience operating within a highly regulated industry, ideally Nuclear.
- Demonstrated experience as an accountable party for technical assurance and governance on large-scale projects.
- Experience of working on projects throughout all phases of a product lifecycles.
Qualifications for the Engineering Management Discipline Lead:
- Either degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or considerable experience working in an engineering management position, leading large multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
