At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Business Analyst at any of our main UK locations. Drawing on your expertise in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and business analysis, you'll help shape the digital tools and systems that support some of the UK's most important engineering and defence programmes.
The role
As a Business Analyst, you'll play a key role in analysing, developing, maintaining and supporting engineering software applications, with a particular focus on PLM and 3DEXPERIENCE solutions. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll help define requirements, translate business needs into effective technical solutions, and support the delivery of digital transformation initiatives that drive efficiency, innovation and operational excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team where your expertise will directly influence how engineering and technology solutions are delivered across Babcock. You'll gain exposure to complex programmes, cutting-edge digital tools and a diverse network of stakeholders, while continuing to develop your career in a business that invests in its people.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Analyse business requirements and translating them into effective system and application solutions.
- Support and enhancing PLM and 3DEXPERIENCE applications in line with business and IT strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, developers and analysts to define user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain and prioritising product backlogs while supporting Agile Scrum delivery practices.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across engineering software applications and business processes.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Business Analyst
- Experience working with PLM applications, particularly 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Business analysis experience including requirements definition, systems design and application support.
- Knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Experience writing user stories that meet INVEST principles.
- Experience supporting the creation and refinement of product backlogs. Experience with Gherkin syntax for acceptance criteria would be advantageous.
Qualifications for the Business Analyst
We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.
