About The Role
As our Production Technical Support Engineer (Sr Manufacturing Engineer-Tooling) you support operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect, enabling tooling solutions. You are accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing processes through the design, development and introduction of tooling solutions for part fabrication and assembly.
Responsibilities
As Production Technical Support Engineer you are responsible for/to:
- Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health. Safety and Environmental policies and standards;
- Develop tooling solutions to complex problems;
- Technical support of manufacturing development and integration for production. Resolve issues pertaining to tooling vendor schedule and/or quality;
- Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances;
- The implementation of tooling, from original concept through to production. Design this tooling for high degree of process capability utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite to demonstrate as such;
- Being accountable for tooling development, tool fabrication quotes, tooling input for new product quotes, tooling configuration changes that involve cost estimation, schedule coordination, and implementation;
- Delivering measurable, metrics driven results in line with Operational & Program goals;
- Maintaining positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers;
- Continuously improving production processes by implementing Lean initiatives;
- Creating developing & providing training to colleagues
Job Qualifications
- Minimal MBO educational level in field of Electrical or Mechanical discipline
- Minimal 5 years of (related) technical industry experience
- Extensive knowledge experience (> 5 years) in the field of electrical assembly and the content of MDPs is a strong advantage
- Knowledge of our organization, procedures, regulations, technical manuals, drawing, planning and quality systems
- Strong team player and communication skills.
- Professional knowledge of English verbally and in writing is required. Proficiency of the Dutch language is an advantage.
- Knowledge of and experience with the BaaN ERP system is a plus
- Knowledge of and experience with the WDMS system (firmware) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing system
What do we do at GKN Fokker Elmo
At GKN Fokker ELMO, we make wiring harnesses for aircraft, which connect all the electrical systems in an aircraft. To make the wiring harnesses, we have everything in-house from start to finish. From complete engineering to our final product, the ready-to-use wiring harnesses, we do this for well-known aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, and Lockheed-Martin for both civil and military aircraft. We produce these wiring harnesses worldwide at several sites. In Papendrecht we have 1400 employees. This is what GKN Fokker ELMO is all about: quality and therefore airworthiness.
