Location: Hybrid working 3 days a week in either our Cargo Facility at DCE - London Heathrow or VHQ in Crawley. Please note the working week must include a Thursday at DCE.

As Analyst Revenue Optimisation within Cargo, you'll provide insights and analysis into Virgin Atlantic Cargo's price, revenue and inventory functions. You'll also develop mechanisms and tools that enable continuous evaluation, benchmarking, and implementation of our network-wide strategies.
Day to day
Your day to day activities cover 2 main areas - Pricing and Inventory Optimisation, and Systems, Processes and Tools.
Pricing and Inventory Optimisation:
- Provide analysis, insight and recommendations to Revenue Optimisation organisation on how we improve our decision making, the optimisation of VAC asset and our price position
- Monitor rate movements in the market through analysis of route and competitor activity, present insights and make recommendations for changes to published tariffs that ensure VAC's pricing positioning in the market is optimal and in line with pricing strategies
- Coordinate internal inputs and external responses to RFPs received from customers
- Lead the seasonal pricing reviews process, working with Sales Managers and Revenue Optimisation Managers to ensure a smooth execution
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of the capacity we make available for commercial sale, regularly reviewing the various systems inputs to ensure they're fit for purpose and making recommendations on any relevant flexors that need to be deployed
Systems, Processes and Tools:
- Work on and own assigned projects on tools, systems or process improvement related initiatives including planning, research, and implementation to deliver to successful conclusion
- Development and management of internal Revenue Optimisation owned tools
- Reviewing effectiveness of Revenue Optimisation team against internal and external benchmarks on inventory and price
- Revenue Optimisation departmental performance indicators reporting
- Data integrity and processes in 3rd party Revenue Optimisation Systems
- Day-to-day supervision, including SLA and QA measurement, of outsourced resource with respect to all activity related to Cargo's Revenue Optimisation function
About you
Do you have an analytical background with a record of using data to drive change and guide decision making? Are you a creative problem solver with the ability to use organisational skills to prioritise and multi-task in a dynamic, fast paced environment? Then this could be the role for you!
Alongside the above we're looking for the following to be successful in this role:
- Strong commercial acumen
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask and strong attention to detail
- Experience in communicating complex messages to various audiences
- Familiarity with Revenue Management processes and systems (desired)
- Advanced knowledge and practical application of MS Office, particularly MS Excel
- Advanced knowledge and practical application of SQL (desired)
- Familiar with data analysis and visualisation tools such as Power BI (desired)
- Ability to communicate effectively via various mediums with internal and external stakeholders
