The Role
As a Support Equipment Project Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the maintenance, calibration, refurbishment and management of specialist equipment used to sustain the UK's submarine fleet. Working at the heart of a critical defence programme, you'll help ensure essential support equipment and spare parts are available when needed, reducing maintenance downtime and contributing to the operational readiness of Ministry of Defence assets. What you’ll do:
- Supporting the procurement, onboarding and management of new and refurbished support equipment projects.
- Collaborating with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure contractual requirements and service expectations are met.
- Inspecting equipment and identifying defects, refurbishment requirements or maintenance concerns, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Monitoring maintenance and calibration schedules to help ensure equipment remains compliant and available for operational use.
- Coordinating project activities, resources and equipment information to support the successful delivery of project objectives.
What you’ll need:
- Experience managing equipment, spare parts or assets within an engineering, technical, logistics or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to support multiple maintenance, calibration or refurbishment activities and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Highly organised, proactive and capable of working independently as well as within a collaborative team environment.
We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can demonstrate relatable experience and a great attitude then we would like to hear from you.
