Job Description:
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is currently seeking a Specialist, Program Manager, this role can be located out of our Huntsville, AL or Camden, AR facility. The Program Manager will serve as a Deputy, assisting with direction, planning and managing all phases of program(s) assigned from inception through completion. Drive program execution in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs. Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Act as customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test. Expand the product line with the customer. Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules. Identify program problems and obtain solutions such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
Essential Functions:
Ensure programs are executed within compliance with specifications, performance requirements, schedules, cost commitments, and internal policies and procedures.
Frequently responsible for managing complex programs of strategic importance to the organization involving large cross-functional teams.
Communicate within and outside of the organization to include customers and vendors.
Work to influence others to accept individual or team views or practices and changes to concepts, practices and approaches.
Communicate with leadership regarding matters of importance to the functional or business area May conduct briefings with leaders.
Implement strategic goals established by leadership and establishes operational plans for job area with short-term impact on results (e.g., less than 1 year).
Provide input into new processes, standards, and/or operational plans that will have measurable impact on the achievement of overall function or business results.
Responsible for program finances including solid background in EVMS.
Works with customers and programs to determine needs, requirements, and develops new business opportunities.
Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
Coordinate with chief engineer and functional managers to ensure proper resources are available in a timely manner to execute.
If located in Camden, AR up to 15% business travel to other L3Harris and customer sites, if located in Huntsville, AL up to 50% business travel to other L3Harris and customer sites.
Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant program management experience, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related program management experience, or 8 years of prior related program management experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in leadership capability and the ability to drive change within complex settings.
Knowledge of manpower planning, forecasting, bids and proposals, milestone scheduling, PM tools, and financial management.
Experience supporting government contractors, DOD, or aerospace companies.
Experience with the Earned Value Management System framework.
Aerospace and defense rocket motor experience.
Commitment to continuous improvement, evaluating programs’ strengths and weaknesses to implement process improvements for success.
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Project, Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
