What you can expect from this position:
The Manager, Corporate Initiatives leads day-to-day development of executive team speaking engagement, thought leadership and communications; partnerships with external organizations like think tanks, boards of trade and chambers of commerce; and the curation of, roundtables, coalitions and executive speaking opportunities related to implementing the GTAA’s corporate strategy and business objectives, particularly Pearson LIFT, a multi-billion dollar investment in Toronto Pearson, consisting of three major programs designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while readying Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel.
As Manager, Corporate Initiatives, you will:
- Lead day-to-day management of relationships with external partners, including boards of trade, chambers of commerce, and industry associations particularly towards the execution of speaking engagements and promotional opportunities featuring the GTAA’s executives.
- Oversee end-to-end support for external events attended by the GTAA’s Executive Team, increasing promotional opportunities and building brand awareness and partner engagement.
- Curate research papers, roundtables, coalitions and executive speaking opportunities towards developing and delivering on the corporation’s thought leadership objectives.
- Support the development and execution of an in-terminal activation strategy in collaboration with the commercial department.
- Work with internal partners on policy, projects, and emerging issues, providing subject matter expertise and advice.
- Handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities independently, mediating and resolving issues.
- Source and develop communications content for the CEO and Executive Team across various channels.
- Lead a small team and consultant support to achieve outlined responsibilities.
- Drive strategic clarity by helping team members understand how their work supports the vision and mission.
The salary for this management non-unionized position is competitive based on the successful candidate’s qualifications.
This is the role for you, if you have:
- Post-secondary degree in Communications, Public Relations or Political Science
- Minimum 5 years experience in public relations, communications, executive or political staff work or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the aviation industry and its influencing factors.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in People Management (direct report or cross-functional)
- Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment
- Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position

- Ability to lead multiple responsibilities and complex situations independently.
- Experience in content planning and development across various communication channels.

- Experience leading a team and providing professional development support.
- Ability to think strategically and critically about complex issues.
- Knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of political science, communications and public relations
- Strong MS Office skills including intermediate level knowledge of Powerpoint
