SUMMARY
Inspects electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components, and parts for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Examines and tests assemblies in a darkroom for compliance to illumination regulations.
- Examines layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware, and components to detect assembly errors.
- Return material analysis.
- Compares assembly with parts list to detect missing hardware.
- Examines soldering, both in process and in final, to determine acceptability per specifications.
- Examines alignment of parts and measures parts for conformance to specified dimensions.
- Traces cables and harness assemblies, following cable-wiring diagram, to verify routing of wires to specified connections and conformance of cable lacing and insulation to manufacturing standards.
- Perform First Article Inspections and first piece inspections.
- Examines parts for surface defects such as chips, scratches, and pinholes.
- Examines production documents to ensure that all assembly, inspecting, and testing steps are according to specifications.
- Records inspection data such as serial number, type and number of defects, and generates a non-conformance report for review by the MRB group.
- Precise completion of documentation.
- Review purchase orders to determine compliance of documents.
- Calibration of measuring gauges and tools owned and used within the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will be able to display proficiency in the below tasks, as well as be expected to gain and excel in a variety of processes and procedures.
- Ability to focus on the task at hand and pay attention to details
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively and professionally interact with others in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
- Read, learn, understand and interpret safety rules, work instructions, blueprints, compliance documents, etc.
- Background check and pre-employment drug test required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Good overall computer skills, MS Office and e-mail programs
- 1-3 years’ experience of inspection of electronic assemblies
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and have specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in a manufacturing environment can be elevated.
