The role:
Fleet Duty Manager
The role of the Fleet Duty Manager is to carry out line manager tasks in relation to all Flight and Cabin Crew, delivering a high performing, motivated workforce and a safe, continually improving operation.
This role operates on a shift-based roster, requiring availability between Monday and Sunday, with early starts and late finishes.
What you’ll do:
- To provide effective people management to the Flight and Cabin Crew communities and encourage excellent performance consistent with Standard Operating Procedures, Service Standards and Customer Service expectations
- To understand and fulfil relevant BA Euroflyer and BA Employee Guide policies
- To understand union agreements / schedules where applicable in the day to day management and support of crew
- Oversee the day-to-day interface with people activities and escalate issues as required to ensure all HR related matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient matter, and compliant with Company procedures
- Produce formal written correspondence to Flight Crew and Cabin Crew in relation to operational performance issues, sickness absence issues and disciplinary issues and assist in follow up actions following Flight and Cabin
- Address performance-related issues and to manage cabin crew and flight crew performance including the instigation and completion of informal and formal disciplinary processes
- Participate in activities in relation to new Flight Crew and Cabin Crew inductions. Including the setting up of access levels and providing information as applicable such as that relating to health and safety during the induction process e.g. Wings day/SCCM upgrade courses
- To support with administrative employee contractual activities in relation to new starters and internal promotions (including promotions, base changes and leavers etc)
- To carry out any general office duties and project work as required by the Senior Fleet Duty Manager, Head of Flight Crew and Head of Cabin Crew
- Communicate and engage effectively with all Flight Crew and Crew Cabin using a variety of mediums (e.g. crew feedback/drop in sessions/1-2-1 meetings)
- Assist with pay related queries and action payroll processes to include the proactive resolution of queries.

Your experience:
- Minimum of grade C GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
- Experience of prioritising own workload
- Experience of working unsupervised, using own initiative
- Experience of delivering excellent customer service
- Experience of managing employee performance and conduct (Desirable)
- Experience in project management (Desirable)
