The Role
As a Strategic Planning Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Day-to-day, you will use at quantitative data to assess key decisions and risks facing the submarine enterprise to support long-term strategic decision making on a multi-billion-pound portfolio, including fleet operations, boat maintenance, and supporting infrastructure.
- Analysis of options and programming of submarine support activities for the next 80 years
- Producing executive level UK submarine analysis and conclusions, ensuring data integrity and clarity of assumptions, in an appropriate and effective format.
- Developing an appropriately comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the submarine enterprise, Babcock business operation, and the data analytics finding from the data analytics team
- Providing management and monitoring of strategic decisions, issues and actions on behalf of the submarine support enterprise
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based at Babcock Technology Centre, Stoke Gifford, Bristol.
Essential experience of the Strategic Planning Engineer
- In-service submarine engineering or wider submarine enterprise engineering experience
- A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the timeliness, quality, and validity of outputs
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong experience handling data and numbers and conducting analysis and interpretation.
- Excellent professionalism, team working and willing to proactively engage the wider business and stakeholders to support outputs.
Qualifications for the Strategic Planning Engineer
- Engineering Degree or strong vocational experience within a relevant field.
