Job Description:
Position Summary:
This attorney will be part of the North America 'One Roof' Legal and Compliance team providing support to all of the Airbus businesses in North America. The right candidate must be prepared to handle anything and everything that walks through the door in this in-house generalist role and to manage high priority and complex legal and compliance projects. The attorney will be responsible for advising internal and external customers, including at the senior executive management level, as well as Airbus attorneys worldwide on North American legal and compliance matters.
Primary Responsibilities:
Draft and negotiate contracts to support sales and procurement of products and services in North America, including acting as the primary local legal advisor for general procurement activities in the US.
Continuously improve contract templates and internal procedures and processes relating to contract management.
Integrate with the Compliance team and assist with the company's adherence to Ethics & Compliance policies and initiatives. Provide guidance and support in coordination with the global Legal & Compliance team on US regulatory matters.
Act as secretary for board meetings and prepare board minutes and resolutions for assigned North American affiliate companies and provide general guidance and support with respect to board proceedings, corporate approvals, and director and officer duties.
Support the tax and finance departments to establish intercompany documentation for intercompany transfers of goods and services in compliance with applicable tax regulations.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned, including corporate governance matters and help maintain corporate documents for all entities in North America.
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Education:
Required: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, minimum of 4+ years' experience and admitted to the Bar and in good standing with a license to practice law in at least one U.S. State.
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
Strong corporate, transactional, disputes, and compliance experience.
General knowledge of M&A, corporate governance, employment laws, litigation, bankruptcy, export control and trade compliance, and regulatory matters preferred.
Experience with international transactions and customers, particularly those involving Europe or Canada, is a plus.
Knowledge of and experience with government contracts including FAR and DFAR.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Knowledge of aerospace industry including aircraft and part manufacturing, sales and procurement preferred.
Strong analytical skills and innovative problem solver with project management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple complex projects and responsibilities with competing priorities and deadlines.
Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):
Fluency in English required. French, Spanish or German is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Adobe
