The role
As a Painter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be assisting in the refurbishment of specialist vehicles and equipment, including spraying and cleaning heavy good vehicles.
Day-to-day, you will ensure vehicles are clean in order for examination staff/mechanics to have full vision of key components.
- Paint Preparation – including masking, wash, blast, filling, and sanding.
- Use of degreasers and other cleaning agents.
- Painting tasks including spraying, patch painting and rolling.
- Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes, and other approved technical publications.
- Diagnose, inspect, and assess vehicles and associated mechanical / electrical equipment in line with skills and competency.
This role is full time working 37 hours per week and is based on site at Catterick.
Essential experience of Painter
- Experience of spray painting heavy commercial vehicles
Qualifications for the Painter
- UK driving licence
- Educated to Level 3 in Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) / National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) however not essential as training can be provided. (paint spraying)
