As the Product Owner, DCS, you will be leveraging data to drive product strategy and development for branches using data from the Departure Control System.
You will be collaborating with other product owners, data delivery team and stakeholders across the operations department to translate data insights into product enhancements while ensuring data domain relevance and market competitiveness.
With strong data analysis skills and data domain insights, you will be playing a key role in influencing the future of product’s growth and aids in Air Canada’s success through data-driven innovation.
Responsibilities:
- As a direct report to the Product Manager, your responsibility is to execute the data product vision and roadmap for Crew data products, ensuring alignment with Air Canada’s strategic objectives.
- You will lead agile workshops to gather and assess stakeholder requirements.
- You will oversee the creation of mapping documents to ensure data accuracy and quality.
- You will guide and support the creation of data lineage mapping documents.
- As a Product Owner working within an agile framework, your role involves managing the product backlog, prioritizing tasks, and delivering value in an iterative manner.
- You will coordinate with the development team to implement user stories.
- You will provide daily support for requirements clarification and business rules.
- You will facilitate, coordinate, or execute user acceptance testing.
- You will lead sprint retrospectives and implement action items.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of Business Analyst or Product Owner experience including hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle. M.Sc. preferred.
- Knowledge of BI analytics/concepts and data warehouse platforms.
- Best practices in user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Agile methodology experience (CSM/PSM or CPO/PSPO certification is an asset).
- Proficient in data exploration and data profiling.
- Knowledge of Amadeus tools ArdWeb and CM
- Familiarity with the Airline Industries concepts like Departure Control.
- Familiar with data and analytics analysis tools and delivery technologies
- Atlassian's tools (Jira/Confluence)
- SQL
- Snowflake (an asset)
- Databricks (an asset)
- DBaaS (an asset)
- Problem solver who thinks strategically, results oriented and attentive to details.
- High adaptability and rigor.
