The Role
As a Lifting Operations Appointed Person, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible for ensuring lifting operations are planned, supervised and conducted in the safest possible manner.
Day-to-day, you’ll develop lift plans, method statements, risk assessments and other associated documentation to ensure lifting activities fully comply with LOLER and BS7121.
- Ensure the deployment of SQEP supervision for all lifts
- Support the lifting operations manager in achieving KPI’s across operational areas
- Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with time, cost and quality requirements
- Support audits as required by compliance, quality or QHEQS departments
- Support the mentoring and coaching of all lifting work party members
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at HMNB Clyde, near Helensburgh.
Experience Required of the Lifting Operations Appointed Person
- Experience of Lifting / Slinging Operations
- Thorough knowledge of LOLER & BS7121
- Knowledge of risk assessments
- High degree of numeracy and literacy
- Background in the nuclear industry beneficial but not essential
