Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Aviation Maintenance management, technology or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 years aircraft maintenance experience with heavy turbine aircraft to include 3 years experience in an operating flight dept or CLS site and 5 years experience with assigned aircraft.
Position Purpose:Provides day to day management of a Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) field site or assigned Contract support activity. Manage all assigned staff activities involved in contractually supporting the maintenance and inspection, and repair of daily flying aircraft including (but are not limited to), materials, parts and equipment and other assets placed at the assigned location with varying combinations of full or partial aircraft maintenance. Develops and maintains effective controls for budgets, material consumption, manpower, schedules, procedures and policies to achieve maximum utilization of all resources.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
- Utilizing assigned resources, manage the planning, coordination, execution and provision of all tasks related to supporting the assigned customer daily flight operations within contracted parameters. .
- Oversee subordinate employees, conduct performance appraisals, support growth plans and coordinate with Human Resources to manage assigned contract employees. .
- Assist in the development, execution and tracking of annual direct, indirect budgets as well as training plans for the department. Ensure that assigned support personnel are continually trained in complex aircraft systems/equipment in order to maintain full compliance with contractual requirements.
- Ensure compliance with corporate/contractual environmental, safety and improvement goals to include active participation in SMS (Safety Management System), CIO (Continuous Improvement Objectives) and other programs.
- Oversee management of critical situations, AOGs, operational incidents & system failures. Provide coordination between the assigned customer, depot and appropriate management/contract offices to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
- Within established policies and provide management and tracking of customer and Gulfstream owned inventory as well as shipping & receiving functions. Ensure compliance with all applicable FAA, DOT and Military requirements in the storing, shipping, repair and issue of inventory.
- Monitor site/customer activities as they relate to GACs contractual responsibilities. Recognize, identify, report and correct as required, activities and processes, which are not funded.
- Be responsible for various department level monitoring actions as assigned by the Operations Manager. Report on status. Assist with corrective action where appropriate. .
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
- FAA A&P required. FAA IA license desirable.
- Systems/Avionics training on assigned aircraft required.
- Must be capable of obtaining and holding US Government Secret Clearance.
- Prior CLS experience is preferred.
- Five (5) years prior supervisory/managerial experience.
- Requires in-depth understanding of heavy turbine aircraft tech manuals, specs, operating procedures and government contracting.
- Experience on military support and acquisition programs preferred.
