Johnson Service Group is looking for a Payroll Specialist for one of our Client’s in San Jose. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll transactions, managing timesheets, and handling garnishments, stipends, and union dues within the Infor Payroll System.
Job Duties:
- Review employee timesheets and make any necessary adjustments for the upcoming pay period.
- Enter payroll transactions and correct data errors within the Infor Payroll System.
- Process garnishments, stipends, and union dues.
- Manage retroactive payments, promotions, and special assignment pay.
- Assist in formatting the bank ACH file using Infor MHC software.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from staff in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain payroll records, including filing and archiving payroll backup documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Fast learner with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in accounting and payroll processing.
- Familiarity with payroll ERP systems (e.g., Infor).
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively assist staff with payroll inquiries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain detail-oriented under tight deadlines.
Education and Training:
- Equivalent to completion of high school (12th grade) supplemented by twelve (12) semester units of college-level coursework in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in processing and maintaining accounting records, particularly in accounts payable, payroll, or general ledger support.
License or Certification:
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license.
Rate: $35.78 full-time 6 month contract
