Summary
Performs all job tasks in the Paint department by performing the essential duties and responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities
This job description does not imply that these are the only duties performed. Reads work orders, follows production drawings and other documentation (MCR’s, work instructions, communication sheets, etc.), or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Follow cellular manufacturing when applicable
- Use required safety equipment
- Maintain a safe and clean environment
- Notify management of problems in production
- Order supplies from stock
- Accurately follow and mix all necessary formulations
- Develop a thorough understanding of paints
- Follow all calibration and expired material rules and policies
- Proper use and maintenance of airbrushes, HVLP spray guns, screening tables, gun washing equipment, paint booths, measuring equipment and ovens
- Performs spraying of clear coat, paint on fronts and backs, paint for finals, paint I, paint on Avionics, paint on GDLS
- Performs screening on panels, metal, and GDLS
- Balances INCN and EL panels, Avionics product, and GDLS
- Performs all sanding and flipping tasks
- Testing of paint and inks
- Document all necessary quantities, signoffs, rework and scrap, and maintain lot traceability

Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED
Computer skills preferred
2 – 3 years manufacturing experience in a Paint department strongly preferred
Skills
Language Skills
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence. Must possess the ability to effectively present information one-on-one, in a small group situation, to customers, and/or other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to understand manufacturing concepts, as they relate to all job tasks, within the paint department. Possess superior problem solving skills.
Physical Demands *
While performing the duties of this job the employee is continually required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects. Must be able to use an airbrush and HVLP gun. Requirements may also include repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation
$18.50-$24.50/hour
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
