The role
As a Supervisor Transport Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Carrying out driving duties within the scope of current Road Traffic Legislation, Road Transport Law and Service Publications.
Day-to-day, you’ll plan the weekly transport tasking sheets, fitting the complex customer transport needs with drivers and resources. Also including downloading of Driver/Vehicle tacho cards to update Vison, as well as:
- Daily supervision and management of Driver hours IAW Road Transport Law and Service Publications. Including issue of tasked vehicles to the customer and internal drivers. Issuing all correct paperwork and following Service Direction and policies.
- Processing vehicle faults and breakdowns, by use of correct policy, direction and informing the relevant authorities.
- Prioritising customer Operational tasks, often at short notice.
Successfully Attending a Defence Junior Transport Management course within your initial 6 months, away from base location.
This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Northolt. This role will be 38.8 hours done over a 2-week period, rota is days, nights, this will be explained on interview.
Essential experience of the Supervisor Transport Controller:
- Working knowledge and use of IT Operating Systems (MS Office Suite) and the Internet.
- Ability to attain a driving Medical following formal training
- Planning of Daily Operational ROTAs experience
- Proficient IT computer skills, Excel, Word, in addition Transport Management tools, Clarity,
Qualifications for the Supervisor Transport Controller:
- Background Qualifications will be time served in the Transport Industry, and or the MOD.
- Categories B, C and D / Digital Card / DCPC Qualification Card UK driving licence
- ADR Class 1 & 3 Awareness
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.
