Job Summary: Performs routine engineering-related work requiring the application of educational study and standard techniques and procedures in the manufacturing of Lear Romec products. Supervised assignments & projects have clear & specified objectives. Work assignments provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge, understanding & expertise in the areas of: Manufacturing/Assembly Engineering (Methods evaluation; CNC and manual machining; Machining and assembly work instructions; Cell design; Fixture design; Cutting tools) Essential Functions: Assumes Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities under the guidance of a Manufacturing Engineer for projects as assigned. Coordinates with the representatives of Design Engineering, Supervisors, Quality, and Purchasing, to plan and complete projects as assigned. Provide support for process development, tooling, systems and process improvements, cell design and layout Prepare, review and/or approve process routings, sketches, tool sheets, NC programs, and general process revisions. Maintains and communicates an accurate accounting of project status The work output is expected to be consistent with Lear Romec’s quality and manufacturing excellence goals and objectives Minimum Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher Microsoft Office Products Software (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook) CAD Drafting/3-D Solid Modeling experience a plus (Pro-E and/or AutoCAD Preferred) NC Programming experience a plus Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T) experience a plus Language Skills: Good oral and written communication skills required to effectively present information, write reports and process instructions, and provide support to various functional groups within Lear Romec Work Hours Expectations: 40 hour work week Reasoning Ability: Assess, trouble shoot, and support the resolution of technical problems in a timely, cost effective manner Teamwork Expectations: Self-motivated team player with a genuine interest in people Teamwork and individual growth are fostered to enable Co-op students to contribute and achieve their full potential.
