Role and Responsibilities
The IT Desktop Support Technician II, under general supervision, is responsible for receiving and responding to customer requests. This includes but is not limited to hardware, software desktops, servers, networks, and telecommunications. A Desktop Support Technician II resolves and escalates technical problems according to standard operating procedures and within defined service levels. Documents, tracks and monitors problems and resolutions to ensure timely resolution and provides training to end users.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide intermediate-level support for hardware and software problems, including diagnosing and repairing desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Collaborate with Level 3 technicians to resolve complex technical issues.
- Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot software applications and operating systems.
- Support and maintain network connectivity, including wired and wireless connections.
- Document and track all user requests and incident resolutions in a ticketing system.
- Assist in documentation of standards and methods.
- Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
- Must complete all required Astronics Training programs within a set time frame.

QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum)

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or associate/bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2 years of equivalent Desktop Support experience.
- Solid knowledge of desktop operating systems.
- Familiarity with hardware components, network protocols, and peripheral devices.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting common software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to end-users.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- A commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.
- Ability and willingness for 10% travel, which may include international.

Language Skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to end-users. Able to read, write and comprehend documentation, instructions, and correspondence. Must possess the ability to effectively present information one-on-one, in a small group situation, to customers, and/or other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Able to understand IT and manufacturing concepts, as they relate to all job tasks.
Physical Demands *
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects. Requirements may also include repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation
$23-$31/hour
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
