The Senior Product Process Engineer (PPE) applies technical expertise to the performance, production, and repair of electronic and mechanical products and related components. This role primarily supports Operations, the PPE team, the production floor, and external customers with a focus on quality, Rolled Throughput Yield, cost reduction, standardization, reliability, and product readiness for Production and Repair. Additionally, the Senior PPE is responsible for overseeing the successful transfer of work from one supplier to another, ensuring quality, consistency, and minimal disruption to operations.
Duties And Responsibilities
Apply high-quality, manufacturability methodology to the New Product Introduction process and the entire product life cycle
Serve as the PPE technical lead, often representing Operations as a whole, with internal and external customers, Operations (Manufacturing and Supplier Management), Repairs, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Support, and Suppliers
Operate as a Product Owner for multiple products, including leadership and support from product development to end-of-life
Prepare and maintain Manufacturing, Production, and Repair plans for new and existing products
Develop technical expertise and regulatory/quality understanding of electronics, mechanical components, and assemblies, emphasizing repeatable, quality-driven production processes
Oversee and coordinate the transfer of production work from one supplier to another, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, maintaining production schedules, and minimizing quality risks during the transition process
Ensure the new supplier's capabilities align with product specifications and that all necessary documentation and training are provided
Collaborate with Supplier Management, Quality, and Operations to mitigate risks during the transfer process and ensure seamless integration into existing workflows
Responsible for continual improvements in Rolled Throughput Yield, safety, on-time delivery, efficiency, and response time
Continuously reduce test escapes, defect PPM, and COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality)
Troubleshoot electronic boards/assemblies and electromechanical components that fail functional tests
Identify root cause and corrective action to ensure problem containment, correction, and recurrence prevention
Advise management on issues related to supplier transitions and provide recommended solutions
Represent the company during onsite/offsite customer and supplier meetings and provide management with updates
Conduct Supplier & Product audits as required by the Manager
Participate and support customer, regulatory, and on-site audits

Benefits
The starting pay range for this position is 98,000 to 125,000 however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
