We are looking for a Top-Tier Electronics Technician to join our team!
Astronics-PECO is located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood and designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
In this position you will provide production testing and service repair of infrared video sensors to our aerospace customers. In this role you will be most successful if you have a high level of attention to detail and have ability to manipulate very small parts and tools. Many of your primary duties will be routine but due to the nature of the organization there will by occasions where you will come across a situation that requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Debug, test, and assemble a variety of electronic, electromechanical, or mechanical equipment using test equipment like digital multimeters, oscilloscopes and power supplies
- Support production goals for new and reworked product utilizing drawings, BOM’s and work instructions
- Create test reports, make change recommendations to documentation (drawings, bills of material, etc.), and apply Engineering Change Orders according to company standards
- Support Mechanical, Software, and Electrical Testing activities at company test lab as well as remote test facilities
- Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions, and uses equipment and materials properly
- Execute data entry into ERP software as well as Microsoft Office applications
- Submit purchase order requisitions
- Train junior technicians
- Perform/coordinate temperature and vibration environmental testing
- Initiative is required to address emergent issues with the appropriate individual or department
- Work routinely with quality, engineering and warehouse personnel
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences:
- Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent and three years or more of related experience, or an equivalent combination or training and experience
- Experience with quality control, shipping, receiving and inventory, preferred
- Software loading in Vivado or MPLAB, preferred
- Prior experience working with Infrared, visible imagery, photography equipment, video editing or optics, preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and government regulations
- Ability to write reports and technical correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and employees
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, diagram or schedule form
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Any level of experience working with CloudSuite (Syteline) Industrial ERP software, preferred
- Enjoys the challenge of working in a small team but is also able to work independently
