JSG is looking to hire an Electromechanical Assembler for an innovative technology company in San Diego. This is a Direct Hire Role | Onsite
The Electromechanical Assembler is responsible for producing high-quality work that meets established standards and aligns with customer requirements on time and within budget. This role emphasizes continuous improvement and the ability to adapt to unique tasks with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce quality work that adheres to prescribed standards, maintaining a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer deadlines within budget.
- Follow detailed work instructions and adapt procedures, tools, and materials to fulfill special requirements.
- Perform advanced, non-routine tasks that require specialized knowledge and experience, including assembly, soldering, and inspection.
- Use experience and judgment to plan and achieve assigned goals while collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales.
- Resolve routine issues independently and escalate complex matters as necessary.
- Serve as a resource to colleagues for resolving complex issues and troubleshooting.
- Maintain a safe work environment, following all safety protocols, including proper PPE use and WHMIS guidelines.
- Participate in LEAN initiatives, Six Sigma, “Six S” activities, and action teams to support process improvement
Assembly Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced assembly tasks, including mechanical and electronic assembly, harness and cable preparation, printed circuit board assembly, spray applications, and final inspections, using models or technical drawings.
- Perform soldering and component installation according to contract specifications using a range of tools and equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, process flow instructions, and other technical documents to assemble units.
- Be proficient across all assembly stages, working with Engineering on first-article builds and interpreting specifications without pre-defined processes.
- Perform comprehensive inspection tasks, including in-process, final, and source inspections, adhering to SPC standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with at least 5 years of experience in a relevant specialty (e.g., welding, toolmaking).
- Cleanroom experience preferred.
- Solder Certification (J-STD-001)
