Position Summary
The Receiving/Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day processing of incoming receipts of material into SAP and supporting the shipping coordinators with product shipment.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently and accurately receive in all items from our vendors into SAP with the appropriate documents.
- Troubleshoot any discrepancies hindering receipt of product into the facility by coordinating
communication between the appropriate parties involved to obtain resolution. - Interface with freight forwarders, customer service, and transportation providers to ensure accurate and
timely shipments. - Prepare and manage necessary transportation/delivery documentation according to established policies
and procedures. - Organize and coordinate work to meet service objectives of the receiving/shipping departments.
- Prepare and present data required to support the operation as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of customer orders as needed.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and High Performance Team (HPT) Initiatives.
- All other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
- Material handling (shipping, receiving, warehousing) experience.
- Transportation experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and/or verbal procedures, processes, and instructions.
- Demonstrated computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.
- The incumbent must be able to coordinate and communicate appropriately and effectively with other
professionals, be well organized, and exhibit sound decision-making abilities. - Ability to work overtime during the week as needed.
- Ability to work independent of direct supervision, self-starter.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: - Working knowledge of SAP software.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipment regulations.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience.
