- Deliver an excellent student experience in accordance with the programme requirements.
- Provide teaching, learning support and undertake observations to ensure students’ progress timely through their programme.
- To develop highly motivated students who proactively engage with learning and transfer knowledge, skills and behaviours to the workplace, and enable them to integrate theory with practice through reflection.
- Provide feedback and appropriate student support.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, and is offered on a fixed term contract basis. The successful candidate will be based at the Gloucestershire Fire Service College, Moreton-in-Marsh.
Essential experience of the Breathing Apparatus Trainer
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Results focused with the ability to work under pressure.
- Comprehensive understanding of the fire service and the evidence base current context, challenges, and issues gained either through previous operational or training experience.
- Fire service experience (beneficial)
- Experience of supporting and driving the progression of students delivering apprenticeships or other work-based learning (desirable)
Qualifications for the Breathing Apparatus Trainer
- Breathing Apparatus instructor or happy to work towards this qualification.
- Tactical ventilation / PPV instructor or happy to work towards this qualification.
- Level 2 qualification (or higher) in maths and English Excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills
Security Clearance
