Job Summary:
The Maintenance Employee is responsible for the repair, upkeep, and preventive maintenance of machinery, mechanical equipment, and the facility's infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the manufacturing processes are uninterrupted, safe, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine preventive maintenance on plant equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operation.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in a timely manner.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to identify potential problems or hazards.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment.
Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies related to maintenance and manufacturing.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Basic understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required.
